Meet The Director
Kim Skondin has been teaching music and choir in Oregon since 2011. She is in her 5th year as the director of choirs at Silverton High School/Silverton Middle School in the Silver Falls School District. Her past teaching engagements were Artistic Director with Oregon Repertory Singers Youth Choir in Portland, OR and a K-5 music specialist in the Beaverton and Bend School District. She has served as a professional development leader, honor choir conductor, president of SWOKE (Southern Washington and Oregon Kodaly educators), elementary honor choir manager, and is currently serving as District 4 chair for OMEA (Oregon Music Educators Association).
Mrs. Skondin holds her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from University of Oregon and Masters in K-12 Music Education from Portland State University. She believes that all students should have access to equal and high-quality music education/experiences and works to live and breathe that mission everyday through learning and teaching.
She lives in Silverton with her husband, son, cats, and dog and enjoys taking in everything the great state of Oregon has to offer!

SErenity
This course will continue to improve each student’s musical skills while concentrating on choral music and its styles from most historic periods. The students will work on vocal techniques, music theory, and apply it in preparation for public performances and contests. Students will be required to attend all outside rehearsals and performances.Treble Choir.
Zorro
This course will offer skills in singing and musical theory in the context of a male chorus. The students will work on vocal techniques, music theory, and apply it in preparation for public performances and contests. Students will be required to attend all performances. Bass/Tenor Choir.
Bellissima
This course will introduce students to an advanced level of SSA music while continuing to improve musicianship skills. The students will work on vocal techniques, musicianship skills, and apply it in preparation for public performances. Students will be required to attend all performances. Advanced Treble Choir
Concert choir
This course will continue to improve each student’s musical skills while concentrating on choral music and its styles from most historic periods. Choralaires
This course will give students experiences in contemporary styling within a smaller ensemble setting. The students will participate in a 4 to 8-part music of advanced nature. This class meets during 0 period, before the regular school day every morning. Students will be required to attend outside rehearsals and All performances.
